Terminal (one more airport story)

The first story kind of resembles the plot in the new Spielberg's movie "Terminal". Only the hero of Tom Hanks is from Eastern European country (fictitious former Soviet republic that ceased to exist). While the movie itself is too long, like all recent Spielberg's movies (makes you want to leave in the middle of the movie), Hanks is a brilliant actor, and as I heard, the plot is based on a true story. The only idea I could get out of it was a metaphor of our (immigrant's) american life. While we are stuck in the airport without the documents, with our freedom limited - you can't leave the airport territory, you kind of continue to live, come up with something, trying to find a smart way to go on.

Actually, the movie is supposedly loosely based on this Parisian story. :)

I haven't seen the movie, but would like to see it. Spielberg still sometimes makes movies that I like, e.g. Catch Me If You Can. He's especially good when he concentrates on telling a story, rather then presenting some vision or idea, I think.
